The magic of movies inspires Disney's 1,920-room
All-Star Movies Resort, one of the popular value resorts
at Walt Disney World Resort.
Giant icons from favorite Disney movies set the scene
and cameras are rolling -- guests' cameras, that is.
Colossal images from "101 Dalmatians," "Toy Story,"
"Fantasia," "The Mighty Ducks" and "The Love Bug"
decorate the resort hotel.
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort joins two other All-Star
value resorts -- Disney's 1,704-room All-Star Music
Resort and 1,920-room All-Star Sports Resort near
Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park and Blizzard Beach
water park.
The value resort features some big stars -- really big
stars. Pongo and Perdita from "101 Dalmatians" and Buzz
Lightyear from "Toy Story" tower more than 35 feet tall.
Buzz's partner Woody sits 25 feet tall in his super-size
cowboy hat. "Herbie" the famous "Love Bug" is
approximately five times his normal size. Giant sorcerers'
hats, spell books, brooms and buckets decorate the
"Fantasia" area, and "The Mighty Ducks" section scores
with giant hockey sticks, goalie nets and duck-shaped
hockey masks.
Movies also inspire the check-in and lobby concierge
facilities, a food court with five marquee venues, a gift
shop and an arcade.
Guests looking for a cinematic swim can "skate" into the
Mighty Ducks hockey rink-themed pool or join Sorcerer
Mickey as he directs a liquid symphony at the Fantasia
pool, featuring a kiddie area. An outdoor pool bar offers
light food and drink.
Families will enjoy the whimsy of this brightly colored
movieland, along with great rates -- value rates at
Disney's All-Star resorts are $82-$141per room per night,
based on season. Most rooms sleep four. Non-smoking
